India Goes Quantum: Building the Future of Biosensing in Bangalore

India is rapidly becoming one of the most exciting frontiers for quantum innovation. With massive government investment, world-class academic institutions, and a thriving healthcare ecosystem, the country is positioning itself as a leader in quantum computing, sensing, and applications for life sciences.

For QT Sense, this momentum is more than a business opportunity—it’s a chance to make a tangible impact in healthcare through collaboration, skills development, and technology transfer.

Partnerships with Pioneers

India is rapidly emerging as a global hub for quantum technologies, driven by a bold government agenda and a growing thirst for innovation. QT Sense visited Bangalore this month, forging partnerships with local research leaders and laying plans for the first Indian deployment of our Quantum Nuova platform. Among collaborators is Ravi Puvvala, whose group will be one of the earliest adopters of real-time radical sensing, and Dr. Swaminathan, now at the Tata IISc Medical School, with focus on conditions like sepsis and acute kidney injury in India.

Momentum Across India

India’s National Quantum Mission (NQM)—approved in April 2023 with a budget of INR 6,003.65 crore through 2030–31—aims to seed and scale scientific and industrial quantum R&D across multiple domains including sensing, communication, computing, and materials. Under NQM, India is establishing thematic hubs (in quantum sensing, computing, materials, etc.), funding startups, and building institutional capacity. With this national infrastructure underway, QT Sense is well positioned to contribute meaningfully to a fast-moving ecosystem where India is shaping, not following, the quantum future.

As our CEO, Dr. Deepak H. Veeregowda, put it: “India is going quantum. We are proud to be part of this journey, not just as a technology provider, but as a partner in building a healthier future.”
