At the Leiden Academic Centre for Drug Research (LACDR), Professor Alireza Mashaghi and his Medical Systems Biophysics & Bioengineering group put it to work doing what LACDR is known for: bringing new technologies into drug discovery through deep translational science, in close collaboration with leading pharma partners.
Quantum Nuova detects and monitors free radicals and other highly unstable molecular species at subcellular resolution — readouts that were previously inaccessible. In Alireza’s lab, it serves one purpose: connecting molecular mechanism to clinical translation. A glimpse of a new convergence between quantum technology, biology, and medicine — and of the biology we can now observe at a precision that was out of reach until now.
