Meet the Next Generation of Innovators at QT Sense

At QT Sense, innovation is driven by people who are curious, collaborative, and eager to solve meaningful challenges. This summer, we are excited to welcome three talented interns to our team: Corentin Berhault, Aaron-James "AJ" Santa Cruz, and Krish Gupta. Although they come from different academic backgrounds and countries, they share a passion for advancing science and technology with real-world impact.
Aaron-James "AJ" Santa Cruz

AJ studies Mechanical and Electrical Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). His work at QT Sense focuses on developing automation systems for high throughput measurements, including fluid handling, pipetting, optical components, and manufacturable designs for the Quantum Nuova enclosure.

Through these projects, AJ is expanding his knowledge of optics while gaining practical experience in mechatronics, automation, and manufacturing. Working on quantum sensing hardware allows him to apply engineering principles to cutting edge technology with real-world potential.

Corentin Berhault

Corentin is a Quantum Engineering student at Télécom Physique Strasbourg and an incoming Master’s student in the Quantum Technologies European Program (QTEP). As a recipient of the QMat Excellence Fellowship, he combines expertise in quantum physics with a strong interest in precision engineering.

At QT Sense, Corentin is working on integrating all optical thermometry into our T1 relaxometry platform while developing an ultra stable incubator for live cell quantum diagnostics. His work supports the development of more advanced and reliable quantum sensing technologies.

For Corentin, the internship offers the opportunity to bridge theoretical quantum concepts with practical applications while collaborating with experts from a wide range of scientific and cultural backgrounds.

Krish Gupta

Krish is studying Biomedical Engineering at Case Western Reserve University, where he developed a strong interest in personalized medicine and healthcare innovation.

As an R&D intern, he is building a quantum physics simulation to model interactions between paramagnetic particles and fluorescent nanodiamonds. Alongside computational work, he is performing experiments with the Quantum Nuova platform to validate and improve the model.

For Krish, the opportunity to contribute to technology that could enable earlier and more personalized disease detection is especially meaningful. Working closely with the team also provides valuable insight into interdisciplinary research and innovation.
